Mystic Auto Spa. Dallas, TX

Mystic Auto Spa: An upgraded website designed to stand out in a competitive market.

The Brief

Dallas, Texas has its fair share of luxury car owners — and accompanying Auto Spas. Seeking to expand clientele, Mystic Auto Spa turned to Serravillo to create a standout brand identity and accompanying website to expand operations in Dallas and open the door to new markets.

Initial market studies found something interesting

Nearly all luxury auto spas, not limited to Dallas, have a mundane, “flat” look to them, using design principles reminiscent of the early 2000s. And that is where Mystic Auto Spa’s brand position — and future website — were born.

“It was a balancing act. Our market is a mix of old and new money, so we needed our site to appeal to a variety of people while still standing out as a fresher, better take on the industry,” said Mystic Auto Spa.

We sought to combine the positive aspects of sites we studied with more modern and visually appealing designs. As Mystic Auto Spa put it, “We know our clientele. When people visit our site, they’re expecting us to get straight to the point. If they have to click around to find what they need, they’ll leave.”

An updated design with an emphasis on simplicity

In other words: the most masterful technique used in competitors’ sites? Their simple, no-frills designs, telling users what services are offered, corresponding prices (if published), and how to get in contact. That’s it. While many of their cosmetic designs were dated, the overall strategy was not.

More modern design choices: exciting images, bold colors, use of counters, icons.

Links: When viewing details of one service, get links to the others so they don’t have to search. Maybe title this section “Make it effortless”

Note: Since publication, Mystic Auto Spa has changed ownership - all website screenshots in this case study are the work of Serravillo. Over time, readers of this case study, upon viewing the live link to Mystic Auto Spa’s website, may notice discrepancies between posted screenshots and the current design, as the new owner has made visible edits of their own.
